Campitello di Fassa

Located at the feet of the Col Rodella and close to the Val Duron, Campitello di Fassa is a famous resort known for its typical architecture made of barns and narrow streets. Campitello was the first tourist and alpine resort in the Val di Fassa with the hotels Mulino and Agnello d’Oro, and an important place of study both for alpinists and worldwide famous scientists.
Thanks to a fast modern cablecar it is possibile to reach the Col Rodella very quickly, with a view on Pian, a picturesque hamlet belonging to the village of Campitello, and on the Sassolungo group.
Campitello is a winter paradise both for skiers and snowboarders. Slopes perfectly covered with snow and new technology lifts allow the skier to reach the neighbouring ski areas on the circuit of the 4 Passes, while in fall and spring it is the ideal place where to practise air sports such as hang gliding and paragliding.
At the Ischia Sport Center, it is possible to practise many sports, such as, among the other, climbing and golf for beginners. The sport center is located a few steps far from the downstream station of the Col Rodella cablecar, close to the start of the beautiful path that leads to Canazei, and surrounded by the green.
From Campitello one reaches the marvellous Val Duron, a valley surrounded by meadows and woods and traversed by the stream Rio Duron. The road was anciently used by merchants and shepherds from Alpe di Siusi, Castelrotto and Tires to reach the Val di Fassa.

In the past, dairy products represented the main form of livelihood for the local people, who today still make those same products to keep traditional tastes alive.
